2014-2015 Temporary Relocation

Due to Amtrak-related construction at the Harrisburg Transportation Center, both the GG1 and N6b were moved to temporary storage on a track just a few hundred feet from the station. The move was executed by Amtrak on April 5, 2014. After 15 months of tarp-covered storage, both pieces of equipment were moved back to their permanent home under the station’s trainshed on October 17, 2015.
